China is easily the largest and most populous country in the Far East. Among the most famous attractions in China are the Great Wall of China, built to protect the northern border of the country from Mongol invasions; and the terra-cotta army, a set of life-sized terra-cotta figurines that originally guarded the tomb of a great emperor.
